Gene Variation and Gene Discovery Core
Principal Investigator: Gregory A. Grabowski, MD
The Genetic Variation and Gene Discovery Core (GVGDC) was established in 2001 by the Division of Human Genetics at Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation as a laboratory designed to produce, store and analyze DNA data. In addition to its original mission, the core provides part of the computational power for the Computational Medicine Center.
Specifically, the core provides:
- State-of-the-art genomic and DNA sequencing evaluation for gene characterization
- SNP discovery
- Gene discovery
- Translational research for gene-based studies
Comprehensive tools, consultations and analytic capabilities are available to investigators.
