Leadership Team

Bruce Aronow, PhD, is co-director of the Computational Medicine Center. He is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Aronow and his research group are noted for their computational work in identifying and predicting cis-element clusters, which regulate the behavior of certain genes during biological processes.

Thomas F. Boat, MD, is director of the Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation and chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is also physician-in-chief and a member of the Board of Trustees of Cincinnati Children's. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Dr. Boat joined Cincinnati Children's in 1993 after serving as chairman of the department of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He specializes in pediatric pulmonology and subspecialty training.

Jane Henney, MD, is co-investigator for the center. She is the senior vice president and provost for Health Affairs at the University of Cincinnati. She received her medical degree from Indiana University. She completed her training in medical oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Henney also has served as commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

John Hutton, MD, is director of operations for the center and director of the Division of Biomedical Informatics at Cincinnati Children's. A graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Hutton was previously dean of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for 15 years. He is a specialist in hematology and medical oncology.

John Pestian, PhD, MBA, is director of the Computational Medicine Center and associate professor in the Division of Biomedical Informatics at Cincinnati Children's. He received his MBA from the University of Steubenville and later completed a PhD in Health Services and Organizational Research at Virginia Commonwealth University. His specialties include medical informatics and clinical research.

The Center
